Fishing Nicknames??

Featured Replies

I figured Id try to start a PG-13 nickname post on here for other angling terms, Its been raining 8 days in a row here in the NE and fishing hasnt been much of an option so Im looking for a few laughs. Heres a few examples I guess for some clever nicknames for the "other" types of anglers, lets keep this one a funny long thread.

Bucket Bros. (the guys who sit on an empty paint bucket filled with catfish and sunsters)

Worm Dunkers (we all know who they are  ;))

Marshmallow Chuckers (trout fishn)

Powerbait Flingers (trout fishn)

Cmon ladies and gents, I know some of you have some hysterical ones.

Stump hump!  A guy who thought he knew the lake well enough to put his boat on plane  at 6am in the dark.  When daylight broke, all you saw was the nose pointing up to the sky.

You know what was the worst part of this,  he borrowed the boat.

Most of our NE TX lakes are loaded with timber.

So If your asked to go stump humping, let someone else lead the way.

That sounds like a "Stump Chump" to me.

I think the Stump Hump is on that "Girls Gone Grabblin' " tape.....has anyone watched that?

I have seen these types referred to as the Bucket Brigade. But my personal term for them is Grocery Shoppers.

Bird Watcher -- what my grandfather used to call people who only fished the banks (looking at the shore and trees I guess).  Also Bank Basher.

Zig-Zagger -- what he called someone who fished offshore structure using their electronics (before GPS) since they had to zig zag all over a spot to find their brush pile or hump.

"TunaBoating" is something we used as kids to refer to setting a hook so hard that the fish flies over everyones head onto the bank behind you. As kids we would fish for catfish and big carp using heaving weights in the river. Sometimes it would be a small sunny and would go airborne. You would yell "TunaBoat" and everyone would hit the deck.

I still use the phrase to this day when someone catches a small fish and yanks the fish out on the hookset.

Rodeo ride-trying to keep your balance when some moron in a ski boat throws a big wake when you have the TM down and lines in the water

Schkeeters: Annoying Misquitos or those Jet Skiers who are just as annoying.

sand Fleas: When Fishing the Dunes in eastern washington and ATV's Come roarin and schreechin along the shoreline.

Sand slammers: Fishing the dunes in Eastern Washington and they Jump Sand dunes with their boats flying 5 feet in the air to get to a secret honey hole, Those guys are crazy, But if i had to do it to win a tourney, I would.
