Im "Hooked"

Featured Replies

Ok guys...i tried and tried and tried to stay away from the Senko craze, but i was at Dicks last weekend and the had some which were cheaper than what i had seen online.  So i picked up a bag of 4in Black and tried them on the lake that next day.    Man, these lures work.  Prior to that afternoon, i had been on a slump at this lake.  Had'nt caught anything but crappie for the last three weeks.   It wasnt 5 min that they started hitting the Senko.  I was d**n near amazed.   Thought id share my experience....Great lure..im buying three more bags tonight.

awwww man......youre hooked now.

everytime i throw them, they catch fish..its hard to throw another lure when you know the senko will work..... ;)

many on this board seem to be ditching the senko because it has become wildly popular. at least thats how it seems to me. i've caught way too many fish on senkos to give them up. just don't get caught up so badly that you refuse to throw out anything else.  you said that you used the 4" model. they worked for me also but i caught more on the 5"

I've jumped on the train also.I use them on a C-rig and also like to pitch them at docks, wood, and grass. They really are a fine bait.

Was on that wagon but got off! Havn't used a senko more than a month or so. I still have a few bags since I have the tournament tomorrow night and when I just wanna catch one in like 5 minutes or less. It is awsome that I don't depend on ANY LURE ever!!

I am staying on the senko for a while.  If it works, fish it!  ;)

i havent caught anything with mine yet, but i feel confident. hey RattlinRogue, hows the c- riggin them going? ive only tried weighless whacky

If ya catch fish and have a good time doing it,who cares. senkos are productive baits no two ways about it.I think that allthough they do work, its a good idea to be proficiant with all aspect of fishing cuz some day the senkos might not be gettin it done and if ya wanna boat a fish or two you'll need to be able to figure out what other bait is gonna best fit the bill. Could be working a crank or spinner bait, witch for one I am bad at and I dont want to be bad at working cranks or spin baits. 8-) 8-)

Yeah, sometimes it seems too easy with a senko, especially the watermellon colored.  I had been using them exclusively until my supply ran out (that bait monkey is nagging me to go get more...) with a 1/8oz t-rig.  My biggest problem with them is that they seem to fall apart alot quicker than other soft baits and I run through them too quickly (sometime a whole bag in one day!), but if they perform, well I don't mind quite so much...

i was cleaning up with the yum dinger the other day.  i think it's a good cheaper alternative.

I started fishing the Senko in 1997.

I quit fishing the 5" Senko several years ago. I was catching too many bass.

Most of my biggest largemouth have been caught on the 6" Senko.

I think I'm going to stick with them for awhile.

Heads Up!

The next "Magic Bait" is already out there.

The senkos are great IMO but i really wish they could find a comfortable medium between being laoded with salt and tearing up so fast. hmm.. actually now that i think about it, its probabbly better off for Gary Y. and Co. to make them tear up like they do, cuz you know were still gonna keep buyin them! :'(

When I fish open water I wacky rig them by wrapping a rubber band around the middle just tight enough not to come off.  I then run the hook under the rubber band.  It seems I catch as many fish this way as hooked through the body and the Senko lasts a lot longer.   I guess you could use an old fashioned weedless hook with a wire guard like we used to rig a fliptail with and fish wacky in brush with the rubber band but I've never tried it.
