What is this bait monkey that everybody speaks of ?

Ah the bait monkey.  

The bait monkey is what gets in your head and makes you buy more fishing lures, better rods, better reels, the faster boat, the nicest raingear, etc..  But mostly just refers to......bait.  It is just a term that we addicts use to justify buying all that "stuff" that we really do need.  In other words, the bait monkey makes us do it.  

For example, if your reading posts on here about a certain lure, and everyone has the best results with the chartruese color, you feel you must go out and buy that lure in chartruese.  That would be the hypothetical bait monkey tapping you on the shoulder.

Don't make him mad.....he's furocious when he's angry!

He is every where and no where he lives in the bushes and bait store he will steal your lures and

force you to buy twice as many to replace them. He will whisper in your ear till you buy that new rod and reel even when you alredy have 30. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The baitmonkey is this creature that follows fishermen around, where ever they go, constantly using mind powers to force them to buy tackle.

Ever wonder how you or someone else could spend $200 on a rod or reel? That is becuase the baitmokey MADE them do it, they didn't really want to.

He has a twin as well,, the Boat Monkey...... then there is thier cousin the hunting monkey...  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :o :o : : : : :

...the grocery store monkey, the gas monkey, the hardware store monkey, they're everywhere!

FOR SOME REASON HIS POWERS GET STRONGER IN THE WINTER MONTHS. AT LEAST THE ONE IN MY HOUSE DOES.

you know when you are truly under his domination when you deliberately break off lures just so you'll have the excuse to buy more

The bait monkey has been whispering in my ear lately, I think he has stock in Rapala and GYCB. One of his other cousins, the chrome monkey, likes to help me decorate my bike and he also gets antsy during the winter months. They would both be much more welcome in my house if they had jobs but until they do I'll continue to quietly feed them and hope that they don't make too much of a racket.

It's when you get an urge to buy every lure and fishing gear you see and every new item that comes to market and when it's done you can't believe you bought the whole thing. ;D
