Fishing Lease?

Recommended Posts

ouachita,

Here in Virginia, I know of one fellow and some partners that have several miles of streams leased for trout fishing.  They operate all of it as catch and release as they are trying to create a trophy trout fishery.  That's the only fishing lease that I've ever heard of.

(i dont know if this counts or not....wait, yea it does) My girlfriends dad helps run this big piece of land where you can pay anually (i think) to go and shoot skeet, train/run your dogs, hunt, etc. There are 3 bodies of water on the property (ive only seen one so far) that are supposedly stocked with some pretty big bass. In this particluar situation, im sure the guys running it would cut you a deal on the fee if you were just going to fish.

We have a few places that you can only fish with an anual pass. These places can be great, for good numbers of nice sized fish..... but because they are managed for numbers, and are almost 100% C/R, they really don't produce the monsters. 10 lb'ers in these places are rare, and 15 plus fish are unheard of.

Peace,

Fish

As well as in CA.  You can join a private group here that grants you access to private ranches all over the state, some with fishing some with hunting and others with both.
