In-Fisherman Question

How come the Lindner boys no longer seem to have any affiliation with this magazine any more? Did they just sell the rights to it or something along those lines? It seems now Doug Stange is pulling the ropes. I have nothing against Doug Stange but I would much rather hear what the Lindner boys have to say.

They cashed in years ago had a no T.V. clause but they have one called Anglers Edge use to be on 1 of the relgion channels locally but I haven't seen it this year.

Garnet....Anglers Edge is on the Versus Channel.   The old OLN channel. Outdoor Life Network.

The Lindners and Stange all grew out of the old Fishing Facts magazine.  The Lindners, basically contributing writers to Fishing Facts, struck out on their own with the in-fishermen series.  Stange bought them out. Spence Petros, one of the editors of the old Fishing Facts magazine turned that mag into the North American Fishing club.  Anglers edge is still on the air. Pretty good show, keys mostly on Northern lake and river fishing.

A few years back, Al Lindner announced his retirement (one of the few angling editors to retire wealthy).

I don't know the employment status of Ron Lindner but I'd imagine he cashed out as well.

Not to worry, Doug Stange with the professional assistance of Jim Lindner, Dave Csanda and Matt Straw

are sure to continue the class-act that we've come to expect from In-Fisherman.

Roger

I think one of them ( 95% sure it was a Lindner not sure if Al or Ron) battled some substance issues in his personal life. I saw a pamphlet by him at a fishing show last year and it detailed his struggles and how christianity has put him on the right path. They did sell out their show some time ago and yes Al (?) has the Lindner Angling ...  show. It is a good show, I always like his voice and they fish for different stuff than the old same old thing.

I think its even better then In-Fisherman

I agree.  I really can't stand how they have a "news room" that they base the show out of on In-Fisherman.  It's a fishing show, not a football game.

In-Fisherman is still the best fishing magazine. The Lindner's put together a class act. Stange&Co seem to be carrying on in the same tradition. I like the scientific, multi-species approach.Angler's Edge is a good show. In-Fisherman is a good show. I hope we have all these guys around for a long time.

Cheers,
