Beetlespin for Bass

Featured Replies

Hey, has anyone fished these for bass? I have heard of people using them for bass fishing instead of bream. Just wondering if anyone has had luck with them.

Like you said. I've caught bass while using them for bream. They tend to be smaller fish and there are better baits :o...

I have caught bass on them, but they have all been small.

A ¼ oz is killer on bass in the marshes of Louisiana & no they don't catch just little ones :o

I agree with Catt.  Beetle spins will catch anything, and all sizes.

They work on the James River.

Friend uses them and has done well.

I have them but never used them.

Last time we fished together was at a Girl Scout pond and we killed the smaller bass on the Beetlespins.

Give 'em a try.  At least the bream will keep you entertained.  :o

I actually caught a 7 pound largemouth on a beetle spin. It bent the hook completely, but barely stayed on. These are definitely effective.

Had a friend catch one that was about 9 pounds, I guess it can catch both quantity and quality.

Great failproof lure i use on new places to fish to see whats in there,If u dont get a fish, strike or boil move on that water is 100% useless

Great, forgotten, lure. I used the original beetle spin in 1/8oz for smallies, and the 1/4 for LM. I lipped a 22" LM for a friend once, taken on the 1/4 ounce.

Clip-on overhead spinners are a standard component in my jig box, and I use them with almost any jig body. They serve several good purposes: They slow the retrieve, add flash, add vibration, and can add profile with a painted blade.
