I need tips on what lures I should use, what kind of rod, and other tips for bass fishing... I'm on Yahoo Messenger so if anyone is on that, please message me. :)

Hello. Tried messaging you on yahoo, but no reply.. So I will reply here.

I am only giving you tips from my sense and opinion...

Lures: Boo-yah Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits, Heddon Torpedos, Zoom Bubblegum Plastic Worms, Rapala Minnows, Buzzbaits, Senko Worms, there are a ton of baits you can use, just a matter of preference.

Rod: If you are fishing for bass, I wouldnt buy anything under a Medium. I use Ugly Sticks made my Shakespere(sp), but they get pricey. There are other rods out there, but again, its a matter of preference.

Tips: I would pick up a book or a few magazeens(sp) and read up on it. Also there are dvd/vhs's out that you can buy at Bass Pro or other local places. Check your television lineup for Outdoor Life Network, and .VS channel. Both of those channels have alot of nice bass fishing shows, and you will learn alot from them.

Good luck!

James

Hmm...

That's kinda the theme around here. Check the other sections of the Forum ("Tackle," "Rods, Reels, Line, etc."). In addition to currently running threads, you can go back a couple of years and read every topic that has ever been posted if you like. You'll find a few "Tips" here and there.

This is where to start:  http://bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html

(The heading is under "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page).

You need to go to the various topics on this site (check out bar at top of home page) and read, read and read.

Each season; body of water; weather conditions; structure; and many other variables will mandate what equipment to, baits to consider and techniquest to use.

May I suggest you suscribe to Bassin Magazine?  It is excellent.

Also, consider purcashing some good fishing books on the market.  Check out other posts about fishing books to obtain others' suggestions.

So, everyone, all 10,000 of us, can give you tips and advice but it is the way you fish; the bodies of water you fish; and the time of year you fish that will determine what equipment and baits to use.

Just read, read and read.  And then hit the water to experiment and fish, fish and fish!
