And you think you are having a bad day?

Featured Replies

I finally got out with a friend this weekend fishing. My health has been, not good, so I enjoyed getting on the water. I have great friends. Anyhow to the point.

I thought I had bad days and we all have them but, I witnessed a poor couple having the worst day I had ever seen. Seems this couple just purchased this boat. A nice 18' 6" ProCraft with a 150 Merc. Anyhow, we were in line getting the boat ready at a local lake and I heard him explainin to his wife how to put the boat in. " Back it up to the water and hit the brakes and it will slide off ". Well, she did but, not close to the water. She was flying and he was screaming, she hit the brakes and the boat hit the ramp, the front end was on the trailer and the prop was in the blacktop. They ended up having to block the trailer, unhook the truck and a park maintance truck came down with a winch to pull it back on. This man was going off. He hooked everything back up, jumped in the truck, floored it, made a small turn and hit a small metal pole in which got wedged between his tire and fender. He put it in reverse and about pulled the front fender off. It wasn't pretty. Thats not all. He was  "right " by then. He floored it again and went up to pull in the parking area and while doing so caught somebodys truck in the headlight area with too short of a turn. He busted the trucks headlight, tore up the bumper and such, plus put a big cut in the side of his new boat. Now thats a bad day.

Sounds like a major case of "Launch Ramp Rage" to me :o

Thats putting it mildly. Some of us offered to help in the beginning of all of this but, he wouln't hear of it. He was out of control. Everyone there was just dumb founded. I have to admit, I felt sorry for him, and especially her, as I fiqured how hard it must be to live with a person like that. He was just screaming at her. On the way home my friend said we  should have stepped in. If he would have layed a hand on her we would have.

Now thats a bad day.

Nope, that's a HUGE  squirrel,lol ;D

I'm sure he blamed ALL of this on the wife as well, right? lol  I wouldn't want to be in THAT truck for the ride home. (especially the way he pinballs the truck of every object he comes across, lol)

(Glad ur feeling a little better Jim,being on the water is good medicine :) )

I was at Guntersville dam one morning and a fellow and a few others put their boat in the water with all their gear and climbed in and for some reason the person at the wheel just gunned the engine full blast. The boat sunk down at the rear where they were sitting and headed straight up and flipped sideways. All the gear in the water and heads bobbing up and down. Everyone was OK, but they lost all the gear and the boat was upside down in the water. That is a bad day.

green_eyes,

Welcome aboard!

Yes, a welcome to green_eyes . . . . and what a story.  I worry when I see men who act like the one in this escapade.  His behavior is indicative of one who abuses his wife.  I know we don't know for sure about the abuse, but it sounds like he has a lack of understanding, a really short fuse, and is unable to control his anger which isn't a good mix.

Welcome Greeneyes. It is minium "mental abuse". Must not have been raised right.

I think I'm having a bad day.  I'm in Iraq and have been for over 10 months.  Still have 4 to go.  It's in the 120s every day with a stiff western wind that kicks up dust storms.  My missions are anywhere from 2 hours long to 20 days long.  Most averaging about 12 hours a day.  I wear 60lbs of gear and walk through villages with IEDs in the streets and booby trapped houses.  AND I CANT FISH!!!  I have a lot of bad days recently  :'(

Thank you for your sacrifice. I think we all take things for granted sometimes. The reason that we can enjoy this great country is because of brave men and women like yourself. Keep your head up high and trust in the Lord.

He shouldn't have gone berserk but he shouldn't have let her back it down the ramp in the first place.  That was HIS biggest mistake right there.  Not hers, HIS.  At the very least he should have put the trailer tires IN the water before letting her behind the wheel.

I saw a guy dump his 24' cabin cruiser on the ramp just like that except he was pulling it OUT.  Apparently he didn't latch his winch and use his safety chain.  As soon as he put his foot into the gas, off it came.  Had to have a crane from the local Marina come and pick it up.  You can get plenty of entertainment sitting on a launch ramp with a few friends and a 12 pack of beer on just about any given day.  My favorite time is when the lakeshore owners are pulling their boats and pontoons out at the end of the year.

Momma always said,"stupid is as stupid does".

Feel sorry for the woman though.

I can't tell you how much I thank you for the duty that you do for the rest of us.  Many people don't understand the hardships you have to endure selflessly for the rest of us - I know I sure don't.  Many thanks go out to you, and all the loyal men and women working with you.  We will be sure to save you quite a few bass for when you get home.  If there is anything you need one of us to do, feel free to ask.  If it can't be done by 1 or 2 people you have all of bassresource.com behind you.

Naw guys, I'm good.  Thanks for the replies though.  I didn't mean to spin up all that stuff, but it's appreciated.  I just wanted to complain what a bad day was really like lol.  At least he was at the lake.  I fly off the handle back in the states at people who flip out over really little things.  Granted, launching your boat on the concrete is not a little thing, but it sure beats riding down a street that can explode at any given moment.  Thank god this is my last tour.  After this is done...GAME WARDEN FOR ME!!!!  ;D

Yes, she was..............for being with a jerk like that!......or scared to death....Spousal abuse is NO laughing matter.  Screaming and yelling in public, hitting or worse in private.................been there, done that.  NO ONE deserves to be treated like that, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE!  Male or female, it happens to both.  I hope she gets out before it's too late............It takes strength, determination and a strong will to live to take that step and to keep looking forward..............................I hope she and all the others out there find that courage........................
