FINDING THEM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

Featured Replies

Hey Fellas: After spending a lot of time on these forums ,in a lot of discussions on equipment and tackle, that basically go nowhere: I have come to the conclusion that all of us find gear we like and the confidence to use them. Basically they ALL WORK I am gonna shift gears over this winter and start to learn what i think is a much more important key to the puzzle

FINDING BASS, AND WITH CONFIDENCE AND CONSITENCY. GLENN SAID SOMETHING IN AN INTERVIEW EARLIER THIS YEAR THAT THE MOST NEGLECTED PART OF THE SITE IS BASS BIOLOGY!

I am tired of arguing brand names and types of products; the bottom line is they all work for someone and I know Im not likely to come off a brand i like and I know Im not gonna talk someone off thiers.

What I see is the guys who are most sucessful, and guys like LBH who have really had a lot of sucess this year have learned where the bass are, why they are there and have a lot of sucess SEE FISH CHRIS AND RANDALL for the proff of that So this is where I am going to put most of my effort in the future.

Finding What???????    BASS or Bait fish??????

My favorite topic.   Shad and crawdads.

Matt

Hey Matt where I fish in Mauch Chunk there are Shad, its a small storm control impoundment MAUCH CHUNK, 339 acres and TM only. Fisihng with Zel has been a boom , he is really been a help understanding the shad.

Most of my other fishing is done in 2 rivers the Leigh and Susquehana, and a lot of natural ponds and lakes( I have giving the stripping pits a break as of late) and that is a whole different type of fishing. Crawfish and minnows seem to be the number one feed for the natural lakes and i never see the baitfish schooling. The natural enviorments seem to be more of ambush situations,. Am I correct about this, BASS are BASS but the Natural Enviorments, which outnumber impoundments up North seem to have a different forage base and need a diofferent way of finding em?

Yo muddy,

You BUSTED dude.

I searched my archive of made up incriminating evidence and look what I found

in my "muddy" file.

A photo of you from the late 60's with your secret bass finder -

The ole reliable stinger heat seeking (modified for cold blooded piscatorials) missle.

What have you got to say about that!!!

Are they shad for sure?    Not alewyes or herring?

This would make for great topic to break down into segements and put the Bass proffessor into the equation.     For sure, he would know alot more biology on the nothern waters, more than us southern folk.

Matt

Thanks, i  AM HEADING OUT FOR 2 DAYS ON THE CHUNK SEE YA LATER :D

One of the most neglected aspects of fishing wnd where most fail the most is that people just don 't take time to learn about what they are targeting, know the biology of bass, you 'll be two steps closer to catching them.

There 's no such thing as a "magic" bait, the magic is behind the rod handle, know how to present your baits and you 'll be another step closer to catching them.

thanks for bringing that point up muddy :)

Hey don't thank me MATT FLY is the one who talks about it the most.

"Catching bass is easy, the challenge is finding them!"
