Why 10 - 2?

Probabilities and statistics 101

That's when the majority of people fish. The most common hours when people are on the water.

Ask anyone who fishes the dark side and they'll swear up and down, myself included, that the odds for bigger fish are greater at night.

Those are words I think everybody could go without hearing.

I had never heard of the 10-2 rule. I allways heard the hour before and the hour after sunrise and sunset. Thats pretty much been my experience.

Broke PB twice this year; first one was at 5:50 PM in June, bright sunlight and then second one was at 11:00 AM in July shady though.

That being said, I think there are other factors that have more of a bearing on it than what a clock says. Moon phase, barometer, etc....just too much to think about. Go fish when you can and see what's happening at the lake.
