Hey Folks-

I'm going fishing this weekend in a small (6-8 acre), shallow pond (6-8 feet deep at deepest) in Alabama.

The weather has been crazy - But this weekend should be very nice/warm:

     -Tuesday/Wednesday, FREEZING - Temps in teens and 20's

     -Thursday, temp close to 50

     -Friday, nice, around 60 and Sunny

     -This weekend, when I'll be fishing, Very nice - Sunny, around 70

My question - Will the warm temps help the bite, especially since it's so shallow? Or, will the "High-pressure/Blue-Bird Skies, right after a front" likely shut them down? Seem to get conflicting info....

My hope/guess is the warmer temps will be a good thing....Thoughts?

Great situation for fishing.

With the sun warming up the water the bass will move around to enjoy the warmer water and to feed.

Check out the northern and western shores where the sun will be beating down on the banks.

Throw your Rats, cranks, pointers and of course, Senkos, and have some fun.

Don't forget your Cavitron buzzbaits early in the AM plus your drop shot and shaky head rigs, too.

Only problem is a cold front moving in sooner than the weather bureau will expect it to arrive.

Pond fishing has really been slow around here (Memphis). I have

had limited success with the GYCB Kut-Tail on an Evolution Shak-E2

jig head.

Same I tried last weekend...tied on a 1oz jig + trailer to try and bust through...no luck It did end up skidding half way across the pond though =D

I would fish late in the afternoon and throw a lipless crank or even topwater.

Bluebird days are always tougher on me. This time of year though the bite will improve through the day. No need for an early start. Fish will become more active as the sun warms the shallows.  I would certainly have a trap tied on as well as a jig, SB, and lizard. Good luck

Fished the last 3 mornings in 40-50 degree weather, strong winds from the bank, did surprising well.  Caught everything on a rapala style lure on the pause, fish are extremely lethargic.

I think just about the hole northern side of the US are looking foward to the upcoming warmer temps. Unfortuntaly my area is so locked up with ice, that a couple of days in the 50's ain't really going to do much. Hopefully it starts to open up some largemouth territory.
