Jigs with soft baits

Featured Replies

Was wondering what yall's opinions were on different soft baits on jigs, ive seen plastic crawfish and worms. What has worked best for you? The colors of my jigs are red/white and yellow/green. Thanks

Netbait paca chunks, rage tail chunks and craws, and zoom super chunks!  ;D

zoom ultravibe speed craw. bite off about 1/2 inch and it looks beautiful.

Zoom Speed craw as said above, or you can do the same thing with a Sweet Beaver for a more subtle presentation

Don't forget about the old-fashioned, non-sexy, non-exciting, seldom-talked-about curly tailed grub.

I think im gonna go with a pack or two of the Zoom super speed craws. What colors would you guys suggest if the jig skirts are green/yellow and white/red? Also, i found in my tackle box I had a pack of Gary Yamamoto Flappin' Hog's, anyone ever used these on jigs?

I have found that sometime the bass want the trailer and skirt to be the same color, and sometimes they like some contrast between the skirt and trailer.

Yeah the flappin' hogs work, but when it comes time to re-up, check out the *** jig trailers (cant beat the price and quality is awesome). Also might want to look into the new line of Rage Tail Craws and Chunks, friggin amazing action!

Rage Tail Craws and chunks; NetBaits Baby Paca Craw; GYCB

Flappin' Hog and Double Tail Grubs; Uncle Josh Pork Trailers.

For small profiles, GYCB Fat Baby Craw.

BTW, The Rage Tail Chunk is the head and claws of a crawdad,

not a traditional "chunk". If you are just looking for one to try,

this is the trailer I would buy.

8-)

Brush Hogs, had my most success with them.

The 4" Mister Twister Split Double Tail is one of the best jig trailers. A soft plastic frog also works really well.

As far as my previous reply (curly tails), I misinterpreted your question. You're talking about trailers on skirted jigs; I answered as if you'd asked about fishing soft plastics on plain jigheads.
