I'll take a shot at this one...because you've never caught one on a rat-l-trap  ;D

It has happened to me too :-/

Man ratltraps are dangerous, I caught my friend last year. The best part is, I was getting ready to launch it and he got up into the line of fire and got hit in the neck. caught his adams apple. Ive never heard this sound before it was kinda a rattle thump when it hit. I asked if he wanted me to take it out and he said he would try, but by the time we reached the boat launch I was freaking out enough to just call the ambulance. Funny thing is they did exactly what i was going to do and charged him $800 on top of insurance.

First Hands can include.....

Getting stuck with a treble hook (I had to have surgery to remove it)

Getting stuck with a trailer hook (cut barb and pushed out of hand)

Walking The Grove at Ole Miss and realizing how beautiful the coeds are.  Some of the prettiest girls in the country attend to Ole Miss. And I mean beautiful.

And last, realizing that the Fighting Tigers will beat Ole Miss like a drum this year in football.  ;D   ;D   ;D

Would that be the LSU tigers, Auburn tigers, or the Memphis tigers?  because we play all three...and yes we did beat all three =)

As much as I hate the rebels, I have to give them credit for the way they played last season. They are doing good. :o

Hmmm, I seem to recall a month ago when I hooked a 8lb trout on a rattle trap, dang thing tossed it right into my finger..lol

They do catch alot of fish, and our case...humans too... ;D

Anything is dangerous. even walking down the street. We all take risks. Some more than others

That is why a small pair of cable cutters are worth the money to keep in the boat. Im not saying cheap wire cutters but cable cutters, some treble hooks cant be cut with el-cheapo cutters.

Dang, I feel for you. I hope you didn't get it as bad as these folks:

That fleshy thing is part of a salmon and the treble looks deep.

Now I don't know if these photos are real, but ouch!

Over here we call it "The Snakebite Club"

Because when you cut the hook and push it through you create a second hole making it look like a snake bite!

Got to join the club in 2005 on the Columbia River.

Almost passed out pushing the hook through my ring finger! :P

Hey Mike,

LSU is the Fighting Tigers.

Auburn is the War Eagles/Plainsmen/Tigers/Whatevers.

Memphis State is the Want-To-Be's.

While at LSU in the 60's we had some great games with Ole Miss. Johnny Vaught would beat our fannies on a regular basis but everyone once in a while CHarlie Mac would screw up and the Fighting Tigers would win, like 11-10 one year on a two-point conversion pass caught by Doug Moreau in the North endzone of Tiger Stadium.

And everyone in the stands stood up when the bands played Dixie.

How times have changed.  :(
