Fishing in warm water and cool air...

Featured Replies

Last night the air was pretty chilly but the water was a lot warmer than the air, so there was a fog on top of the water. In these conditions, what's the best baits to throw? Baits that stay on the top, shallow on the bank or deeper on the bottom??

Search baits.

x2, they'll work

x raps

when this event occurs spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and hard jerkbaits work the best for the active. bass are usually more active at this time.

IMO i dont think fish give a ***t about what the temp is in the air. To me its all about the water temp. But if im in doubt and i think the fish were affected i would throw 3 baits. A rat l trap,an x rap , or a senko. One of those should catch a fish no matter the temp outside.

x4 on searchbaits and LOUD rat traps..we sometimes fish a cooling lake one side of its a constant 74 other 95 on up when its 50 outside so i feel your pain haha.
