The deepest I got so far is a rapala Deep Runner Shadrap (rated 4-9 ft). It works pretty good especially for trolling over a couple good holes.

I was looking for something that could hit 15'. Is there anything you guys would recommend for that depth? I generally use these to troll over holes that are 30+ ft deep, sometimes I will just sit over them and cast 'em out too.

The ones I have found so far that have this depth usually just look HUGE. May be being to picky, just curious what anyone here would recommend.

How about a lipless crank such as a Rattlin' Rapala.

Rapala DT16 (Dives to 16 feet) crankbaits are nice, they also have a 14 foot diver (DT14)

Norman cranks have a thick plastic lip that can take a pounding. More importantly they flat out catch fish.

Rapala DT series are notorious for the very thin lip breaking. At like 8 bucks a bait, that adds up. I've even heard of them breaking when anglers slap the weeds off on the water surface after a retrieve. I won't be buying any because of all the negative press I've heard about the lip.

I have the full-sized Fat Free Shads which supposedly get down 14'-18', and a Bandit 700 which supposedly hits 17' - these have thicker lips which hold up better against rocks.

I have never had a problem with broken lips on the 14s or 16s.

Of course they are larger. Your fishing deep for larger fish, or at least that's the idea behind it. You can also downsize the line to create less drag to get several feet deeper.

I love the Luhr Jensen hotlips series. Hit 20 feet with ease on 10 pound test. Rebel deep wee r's will dive deeper than 10 feet on 8 - 10 pound test as well.

Norman deep little n's will dive about 12 feet for me on 10 pound test. Using thin braid and a fluoro leader will give most baits an extra foot or two as well.

Wonder why noone mentioned the Fat Free Shads by Bomber. The BDF7 runs 14-16 ft. and has a nice smooth retreive, not a hard pull like some of the other deep divers.

Lake St. Clair is pretty shallow, so I don't fish much deep water. When I do fish water over 10 feet deep, these are my most productive baits.

If your fishing budget will allow you to consider $15 for a crank try the Jackall Muscle Deep 15 Plus. This bait has a smaller profile which I think helps get me a few more bites and it's easier to retrieve than other baits in it's category. The most important attribute is with it's weight shifting feature this bait cast like a rocket, the longer cast will help you keep the bait in the strike zone longer. I have fished the DD22, Excalibur & the DT 16, these are also very good baits but if I had to pick one I prefer the Jackall.

I've never had any trouble with the lips either, but I don't fish rocks that often in the lakes that I fish.  I use the following:

I've read and watched videos of anglers using the Luhr Jensen Hot Lips and I think I'm going to purchase some of these.
