The Next World Record

Featured Replies

I'm sure there are record bass in South Georgia and Florida in some of the ponds with little to no fishing pressure. If I had to bet on a state, though, I'd put my money on California.

I think it will come from the Calif. Delta on a Huddleson 9" swim bait, but not for a while.

It'd help if huddleston made a 9" swimbait, lol  ;) But i get what your saying. I think the delta had potential but will go downhill pretty steep pretty soon

I dont know if Texas will break the world record but my home lake Choke Canyon in south Texas had 6 bass over 14lbs caught including a new lake record 15.45 in 09. Falcon on the border has huge fish there, a 10lb bass there is no big deal thats how common they are. Mexico might have a shot at the record as well El salto ,Sugar and Guerrero have some major toads in them.

One of the main ingredients in growing these huge bass is food.  Unfortunately that has been diminshed in many Nor Cal lakes, as trout plants have stopped.  That will definitely hurt the ability to grow record size fish.

Personally I think that there has to be several 20+ lb fish swimming around the Delta.  The trouble is finding them.  ;)

I think that there is still one NorCal lake that has a chance.

The Lagoon could still do it. Then there are all of those San Diego lakes and Japan to think about.

Personally, I hope Butch Brown sticks it on video from cast to net, beats the WR by a pound, and all of this silliness can be done with for awhile.

Well, lets hope the Delta sticks around for a while then!

a small body of water somewhere that everybody had overlooked in the north.

Japan, prob Biwa again..was'nt a 25lb beast caught in a fishermans net not too long before the current tied record was caught? Biwa is deep and full of trout..

My bets theres again esp with more japanese taking to bass fishing

When I was in Cuba some of the locals in Trinadad talked of 25 pounders being caught in fishemens nets. Once Castro dies, it's gunna be open season down there for true genetic miracles.

Lake Lebrije has supposidly produced a 22.5 pound bass and a 22 pound bass on the same day. I also heard it was confirmed that at least a dozen bass larger than the world record that were caught in Cuba, but not one was caught legally.

Experts say that Lake Zaza in Cuba may be Cuba's finest bass lake. A website I saw said it once produced 31 bass over 10 pounds, 202 between 8 and 10 pounds and 608 bass between 6 and 8 pounds during one 5 day fishing experience.

That's hard to believe, but only because I can imagine it.  That would be a heck of a fishing trip if true.  That's awesome.

How is Castro's health these days?

i have to agree with ya there.  its cool how he videos himself on the hunt for "the one".

i wonder if you can buy stock in huddleston? boy if he did get it you could make a little money there  ::)

so the debate as to next WRB has begun.

I have seen how many of these posts over the years?  Well, let's just say "many"

I can't remember one poster saying Japan would host the next world record, yet here they are.
