Indianapolis Boat, Sport, & Travel show

Featured Replies

Does anybody know anything about the show going on in Indy this weekend?

I am looking at making the trip from Dayton OH, (about two hours)

I guess my question is, will there be much tackle there, or is this more of a boat and rv type show.

If it is anything like other shows I have been to, it is mostly about boats and boat gear with a few small stands for fishing gear...

I see plenty of info here:

Thats what I am afraid of, the last couple I have been to the tackle has been very limited.

This show does have a whole building called "Tackle Town" so I was hoping someone knows something about it.

Better than the shows down here which concentrate only on the saltwater stuff and if you ask anything freshwater related, they talk to you like you are a moron and shouldn't be allowed to live, as if freshwater related activities are a mortal enemy to saltwater...  ;D it is very annoying so I don't bother to go anymore.

The Indy show has no comparison in my opinion there are six buildings and anything you want to find is there boats, tackle, vacation ,and everything in between best show Ive been to only draw back a lot of people Ill be going next weekend and Im from Columbus Ohio I never miss it

There is one huge building that serves as "Tackletown" during the show. All of the lure manufacturers are there and they offer a number of free seminars on bass, crappie and muskie fishing.

Lots of retailers on site, too, so you can buy tons of stuff!

In the next building over just about all of the boat manufacturers are there with all of their new stuff.

go! if you like fishing at all, it is well worth your trip. lots of tackle vendors and much more. i went last sunday, it's the lair of the bait monkey.

I skip the Cincinnati boat show and drive to Indy every year. I am also 2 hrs away. You will not be disappointed.

Made it over last Saturday, it was a good time, and a good show.  Lots of tackle, but to my surprise very few actual vendors.  Most of the tackle was being sold by actual tackle shops.

Good show overall though, looking foward to next year.   :D
