I am new to bass fishing but have been doing a lot of reading on this site and in books/magazines. Fished a lake last year and only caught a few bass that were over 2lbs with the biggest about 3.5. I read everywhere that jigs are great big bass baits but I never knew how to fish them. Well the other day I switched to a jig/pork bait.... and bam! I caught 2 5+ lbers on back to back casts. What a rush!

Question: My pork rinds keep sliding down the shank of the hook and (with a barbless hook) sometimes they come off the hook when I miss a bite or are in some thick trees. Are there any tips on how to keep them up by the head of the jig?

super glue always works for me i never used it on pork but i use it on plastic.

I thought I was the only one still using pork!

Uncle Josh makes a slick jig that has a clip on the hook to secure the pork. Picked up a bunch of them in the clearance bin at my local tackle shop. Not sure if they are still made.

I've always been told to use medical tubing and run the hook through it.  I never could find any so I started using a big rubber band and cutting it up into sections.  Fold over the sections and run the hook through it.

Just get a cheap hole puncher (for putting holes in paper for those 3-ring binders). Take a plastic coffee can lid and punch away! All those little circles of plastic make great keepers.
