wife borrowed my truck

Featured Replies

I was going through my computer looking at some old fishing pics of mine and found this one. My wife wanted to borrow my truck for the day, and i just couldn't resist going fishing. She didn't think it was as funny as i did.......

I had to look at this picture for a little awhile, but I think I found what I should have been looking for...  ;D

Looks like fish on top but other than that I don't see it either

Or are you standing  behind the truck not letting her leave?

What's going on here!

Yeah its the fish on top of the car, they are kidna hard to see, probably because they are pretty small. She told me it was a "redneck" thing to do.....It felt strange driving down the road with fish on top of the car.

Dont worry i hit a deer once with my parents mini van. I didnt have rope so into the back seat it went. Never could get that smell out.....mom sold the van. The funny thing was it was my dads idea.

That's hilarious Sharpie, i think i would be divorced if i tried that! Well maybe not divorced, but i'd def be sleeping on the couch for a while, lol.

Hey man I couldn't help noticing that you are from Ada, OK. My buddy's family is from up that way and I went with him up there last summer to Paul's Valley and fished a little on Lake Longmire. I was wondering if you had heard of it or even fished it? It has some monster fish in it.

The funniest part is their on top of a brand new Cadillac Escalade.

styrofoam cooler  ..... $3

Bag of ice....... $2

Leaving fish on top of the car while the wife is driving it...... priceless !  ;D

Longmire is a beautiful lake, its one of those lakes that looks like it should have some huge fish in it. I've only been fishing there one time, i didn't manage to catch any big ones that day just small bass. I'm planning on going sometime this spring though and giving it another shot. I've heard the crappie fishing is amazing there too.

longmire has some huge bass in it and the crappie is good there as well.

Do you keep every fish you catch ? Show and tell kinda guy huh ? Well keep showing and eventually your local lake won't have any fish reports to tell about !

If the guy catches and keeps those fish within the laws of his state, its his right to do so. Remember that. You dont have to agree with it, just remember it.

Those fish are out of my pond that i paid to have stocked, but i'm sure if i catch all of them out of there the local fish farm will be more than glad to have my business :)

There's your first mistake. You got married! ;D We used to put panfish inside the wheelcovers when cars used to have them.

Hell, I don't care if you keep fish, especially if they're farmed. I love eating fresh fish.

But if you knock those fish over the head with a little club or screwdriver handle, and toss them on ice, they will taste better and the meat will be more firm. The worst thing you can do to a fish is let it suffocate in warm air or warm water. It makes the fish taste "fishy" because what the brain releases into the oxygen deprived muscles to sooth them will also taint the meat. Who hasn't eaten some panfish where some taste great and some were fishy? Those fishy fillets were from the suffocated fish that were floating in the basket or on the stringer.

I always say, if you're going to harvest fish and game, then get the most out of it.  That starts on the boat or in the field.

Yea , Bass is good eatin ..... If you live in a tent ! :-/

if you eat any kind of fish you have no right to complain. as long as the person is keeping legal fish then its their right. i dont eat any fish, but i dont mind others no matter the species. if im fishing with a buddy who wants to keep some fish i will let them keep what i catch if they want it, otherwise i throw everything back. you may not like the taste of bass, but other people do

Yeah like i said earlier they were out of my pond, i haven't ever kept any bass from a public lake.

I don't live in a tent, but have stayed the night in a few..... Maybe bass are a comfort food or just bring back childhood memories, but i love the taste of bass fried up with peanut oil. Don't get me wrong i'd much rather go to Oceanaire or a Michael Mina restaurant for some chipino, but once or twice a summer its hard to beat fried bass with friends out by the pool.
