Hellooo Bass Resource members!

After using this AWESOME website for almost the past 2 years as a guest, I have finally registered!

Here's a little bit about myself. Name's Ryan, born and raised in Michigan and live in Northern Virginia for the past 4 years. My daily life right now is pretty much related to work, school, and fishing. I'm currently very busy as a Licensed Vet Tech student and work at an animal hospital. I have 2 more semesters left to graduate...can't wait so I get Sundays free instead of doing my homework!

I mainly fish the great Potomac River, Lake Anna, upper Baltimore area rivers/bays and a few other lakes and rivers in VA. This upcoming spring will be my third year of fishing experience in the NoVA area. I am a member of 2 fishing clubs and try to fish every weekend.

I am proud to say that I stick by G Loomis and St. Croix Rods and Shimano reels!

Can't wait to start fishing soon when it warms up!

Yes, Aquia Creek! I first discovered the creek last year and fished that creek twice for fun in August when the weeds were fully grown. Boy, they were biting the senkos like crazy. I don't know how the creek is in the spring or fall?

My club tends to launch at Pohick Bay or Marshall ramp. That forces me to fish up from Spoils Cove/Ft. Washington area down to Mattawoman Creek due to the size of my boat's gas tank. I've ran out of gas twice and learned how far my boat can go now.

We rarely launch at Smallwood or Leesylvania but luckily this year we plan to launch once at both locations. That will start a new challenge for me to explore the new waters from Smallwood and down to Aquia Creek.

What do you have to say about Aquia Creek? ;D

Aquia is a nice creek.

Fish the grass at the mouth.

Look for the number "5" day sign and fish the northern grass at the entrance into the creek.

You can fish the crab pots at the mouth of the creek, too, but it can get rough out there if the wind is blowing.

Throw over the pads with plastics and frogs on the south side of the creek. Fish the shore line, too, and if you want, the wood on the northern side of the creek.

Lots of grass in the creek so the Senkos work there, too.

Back past Hope Springs Marina, there are docks and piers that can be productive, but this is the dirty (stained or muddy) part of the creek after it rains.

Aquia Creek is not a bad place to fish.

Scout out the creek before you fish the tournament.

Just be safe.
