From St. Louis

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm near St. Louis and I am both new to bass fishing and to the midwest so I'm a two-time loser.. not bass skilled and don't know where to find them! It's all good though, I find water, look for cover and throw worms or spinners. I'm here to learn what the heck I'm doing and find out if I can catch anything from the muddy banks :)

Welcome. There are quite a few guys on the board from the St. Louis area. Be sure to check out the Northeast and Central Fishing sections for info on specific lakes near STL in both MO and ILL.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I look forward to learning more. I got buried with work this last week but I'll be heading out thursday this week to find some fish. I'm thinking Meramec River somewhere between Eureka and Kirkwood. I'll be the dude standing in the mud throwng plastic worms at the fish ;D

Thanks Roadwarrior, I was just reading your "Guaranteed" thread and I'm definitely going to put your advice to work this week. I've never caught a bass using a lure, I used to live in the Sacramento California Delta so all my experience is going after large striped bass with heavy equipment and bait, usually mudsuckers and shad. I'll post how it goes this week :)

Howdy!
