A NEWBIE HERE

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals , newbie to the forum looks like a nice one . im a 52 yr old man  from Dallas , Tx . i have been fishing since i  was 13 . we had some 65 (or older , its hard to judge ages when your 13 lol ) neighbors . and he would take me out in his jon boat fishing on weekends and we would fish for brim with live worms ( which he grew in 2 old washing maching tubs  in his basement , the ones with the squeegie rollers on top) hehe. when i was older and in high school ,i got my first car ( a 64 malibu suoer sport ) . mu friend and i would spend the weekend at nearby lacks and fish for crappie with  minnows and bobbers .  then  when i got to be around 26 i got my first boat ( a 72 ski boat with a walk thru windsheld and a evinrude 50 hp )  there wasnt a limit then and i would bring home more than 5o at a time (fished  about a 4 hour period) and invite  all my brothers and sisters for  fish fry's . after a few years the boat was costing more than i wanted to spend so i  went back to bank fishing . i fished for crappie  , cats and bream . then i learned to use a plastic worm and was hooked on that . one day while bass fishing i noticed some old timers hauling in these huge fish ( the were carp and smallmouth buffalos ) so i learned that and literally fell in love with it . now at age 52 those are my 2 primary loves ( bass and rough fish ) . there is nothing like the fight of a midteen carp that i have ever experienced . well i could ramble on and on but will stop here .  tight lines to all and hope to make some  new friends here and share the bank with you  :)

How was the fishing at Benbrook? I know its relatively close to their house. I hear lake Granbury had like a massive fish kill so its no good anymore. IDK if there is much truth to it  I'm a Va head.  :)
