Featured Replies

I'll be headed up to Maine in about a week for 3 days of smallmouth fishing. Here are some Maine smallies from the past couple of years:

I wish I lived in Maine. :)

Yeah Maine's a great place to live if your into outdoorsy stuff.  Those are some nice bass too btw, where did you catch them?

I live in Maine!  :D Where do you go fishing in Maine to get those beautiful fish? I fish at Lake Auburn, Miller Park and some place in Gardiners.

You can try Cobbosee for pigs like that, or Umbagog has big ones in there too.

Thanks everyone.  I have fished many lakes, rivers and ponds in the Sebago, Bangor and Belgrades areas.  I am told that Long Lake (above Sebago) is the best spot for big Smallmouth.

Beautiful smallmouth.

Good luck on your trip,

I hope to see the post

Thanks Kent.  There won't be a new PB though.  A 4 or 5 pound smallmouth in Maine is a trophy.  6 pound smallmouth are EXTREMELY rare in maine.

Maine is loaded with Smallmouth in the 2 1/2 to 4 pound range.  If someone gets a 4 1/2 or 5 pounder on this trip, that would be fantastic.    ;D

WOW Husky, those are some beauties! Good luck on your trip, definitely post some pics when you get back.

Man! Those are stunningly beautiful fish. Was a time when I saw such pics and WANTED one of those. Now, I'm just darn happy they exist and that someone is out there appreciating them. No one but an angler would even know such things exist.

Nope No Smallies in Long lake....none, as a matter of fact there isn't even water there any more it's all dried up.... ;D
