Alot of good stuff there. Now go use it all, and tell us how you did.

Good luck,

Falcon

Yeah please post a report on the Dancin EEL.  Mr. Dance seems to do well with them in loaded ponds but I am curious to see how they do on actual fish.

Nice purchase, no go enjoy the stuff on the water  ;D

Sounds like you got pretty good gear. Hopefully it will work out for you. Your bound to catch something.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of poles :o:)

Looks like the Dancin' Eel has caught yet another fisherman.

You'll like the Conolon rods. I have 2, a bc and spinning. For the money, I thought they were quite good.

sounds like a quick trip to the store,

hope you didn't forget the milk in the car :o

..............my old lady would have my head for a trip like that....not to say it hasn't happened, its just hard to hide it all on the way in the door 8-)

Darned bait monkey shows itself again...

Nice chunk of stuff you picked up.  Good luck with those dancin eels.  I think I've caught a single tiny little LM on one.  They look really nice in the water, but thats about it.  Thankfully they're cheap.

The only reason I bought the dancin' eels is because I'm taking a trip to Mobile for Mother's Day, and I'll be fishing in the brackish water of the bay.  The last time I went, I threw the dancin' eel one time, and it got BLASTED by something, and it took off, never to be seen again.  I'm assuming it was a huge Red.  Anyway, that's the only reason I bought 'em.

Yeah, I rigged it up for cranking.  I casted it out in my front yard with the 10 lb Vanish, and I loved it.  Very impressive smoothness to the reel and the rod is nice and light.  I look forward to fishing with it.

my wife loves to fish.  I called her and said, "do you care if I get a new rod and reel?"

she said, "no, not as long as you'll use it."

I said, "you know I'll use it."

She said, "you need to get another spinning reel for that rod in the closet." (one of my old reels got stepped on, but the rod is still perfectly fine)

I love my wife.  :o

Nice list but return the Vanish ASAP.  Get the Trilene Fluoro - Vanish is terrible.  Search here for Vanish and you'll see.

Yup, definately a nice list.  If you end up taking that Vanish back grab a few packs of RageTails too.  Toads, Shads, Anaconda, Craws, Space Monkies  8-)  Don't try and explain the Space Monkeys to your wife, just tell her the proof is in the pudding. :o

I already have a bunch of rage tail shads and craws.  Maybe I haven't given them a fair chance, but I haven't had much luck with them at all.

I'm going to give the Vanish a shot.  I just did a search, and I didn't see anything to convince me not to.  If I have a problem with it, I'll change it in a heartbeat, and I'll let everyone hear know all about it.

I used to use it but learned the hard way it won't hold a knot anywhere close to the rated line strength. Using it as a leader was a complete fail as it wouldn't hold the uni knot for crap; for tying lures, the palomar was better but not by much. I switched to XPS that I had and all those problems went away.

Those poor Dancin' Eels take a pounding..mostly from people :o

I will admit to owning one and have to say it does look pretty darned good in the water! Never caught a fish on it but never took the time either. I would like to hear of someone loading the boat with it though! I did see it on a show once (other than Bill Dance AND they weren't plugging the thing shamelessly) and they did catch a lot of bass.....hmmmm. Verdict is still out. Good luck!

I haven't tried the eel as yet, but I would. I have yet to buy a lure of any kind that I didn't catch something on, granted some are better than others.

The major mfg co spend lot's of money in research and development , not to mention all the field testing that's done. They would rather P & L the lure than take it to market if didn't produce. I'm excluding infomercials but that stuff probably works too.

I've personally never had a problem with Vanish. Caught my biggest bass on the line!

I caught an 8 pound carp (accidentally) on the 10 lb Vanish line.  It gave me a heck of a fight, and the whole time I had this thread in the back of my mind.

I actually did end up catching the carp, but I set the hook on a bass earlier in the morning and the line broke.  I don't know what happened there.

Looks like the Dancin' Eel has caught yet another fisherman.

haha, interesting to see how they do for you
