What is the best way to work a twin tail in a river system?

Chuck it upstream near the edge of current and pocket water, let the current take it and wham! But I don't use hula grubs in the river we fish because the jigheads will get hung up in rocks. We like to throw cranks and texas rigged worms or Huddleston craws. I like the hula grub in lakes. Better control & better feel over what it does. But hey, what to I know, I'm just a BassDad.

You can fish grubs T-rigged (unpegged) and

weedless. This rig is just as effective as the

standard jig head presentation.

As an aside, I prefer single tail grubs. I think

they resemble baitfish better than twin tails. I

use the twin tail grubs for jig trailers to imitate

crawdads.

What type of presentation would you use for a single tail grub?

Let is touch bottom, then a steady retrieve just

off the bottom. You will rarely hang-up and the

strike is VERY aggressive.

I fish the hula grubs in the CT river in the wood on the banks.   I texas rig it weedless with 1/4 oz in medium flowing water.  heavier in fast water and 1/8oz in slack water.  Sometimes I just let it tumble on the bottom and sometimes I just shake or hop it.  black or green pumpkin for me
