Big Worms At Night

Featured Replies

I was wondering what big worms yall throw at night. Ive been throwing the 10" Anaconda the past few years but was thinking of getting some of the Manns Jelly Worms. If i get the manns, should i do 8" or 12" and what color. What other worms are good at night?

dont forget the culprit 12 incher

i'd say stick with the anaconda or any other curly tail 10" worm. jelly worms dont really move as much water which is what you want when visibility is low

You have the right idea with the 10" Anaconda, but if you wanna try something else, I'd recommend the 10" Thumper. That thing puts out some vibes!

I guide at night and I fish alot of big worms! I like the Netbait 15 in. C Mac worm because it has alot of tail and less body than most 15 in. worms.I also like the C Mac 11 in. and the Zoom Ol' Monster. As for colors I like black, junebug, black grape, grape, red shad, tequila sunrise. :shhhhh::shhhhh:

10" Black Power Worm

Zoom Ol Monster, enough said ;)

In really dirty water or at night, I've had my best luck with the Gambler 8" Flapp'n Tail worm. It displaces a lot of water and has more thump than any other worm I've used, including the 10" Anaconda, which is also a great worm. You can easily feel the vibration of both of these worms through the rod, especially with heavier weights and a faster fall rate.

If I am going to throw a worm at night I usually throw a paddle tail or a gator tail because of the vibration and water displacment. I have also caught some great fish on a flapping shad, buzz tail shad, and senko. With a ribbon tail it is more of a visual bait not a vibration bait.

Gene Larew 10.5" Big Daddy Worm

Gene Larew 12" El Salto Grande Worm

Don’t over look big Craw Worms ;)

I load any plastic I fish at night with rattles.

Kelley

try the new gambler snake or the delong

Zoom Ol' Monster (Junebug, Blue Sapphire)

Berkley 10" Power Worm (Black and Blue)

Any ribbontail worm will do nicely. Rattle inserts don't hurt either.

I've been using the 8" and 9" Jelly Worm in blackberry or black grape for years in addition to a 10" ribbon tail. Some nights it produces more than the ribbon tail.

You could also give a looks see to Fish Candy Bait Co.'s Lunker Candy worm, 15 incher

Zoom monster, berkley power worm, Gambler 10" ribbontail

They are all winners.

Yet another vote for the Zoom Old Monster, they even work during the day.

Zoom 8" big dead ringer. Red shad or black......

Wish the Anaconda and Thumper were available in some kind of black.

I use the 8" Producto Tournament Worm, 10" Berkley Power Worm and 10" & 12" Culprit Worms all in black or dark colors.
