Inline Buzz Baits

Featured Replies

I have a buddy who is really into musky fishing and he has a couple inline buzz baits that work really well. I have caught a couple muskie on them and more importantly many 4+ lb bass which for MN is pretty good. But I cant find any, Cabelas didn't have any, I couldn't find them at tackle warehouse either. so does any one know where to get some?

Goggle inline buzzbait in quotes. I found some there.

Google Joe Bucher's Buchertails. Also Wendel's Musky Harrassers. Both fine lure manufacturers. And I believe they both make buzzers. You can also google "Musky Lures" and get a plethora of sites to visit.

I was just watching Shaw Grigsby tear up some redfish on an inline buzzbait and was thinking about this. You may have some luck searching saltwater tackle websites.

You can probably make one from an existing overhead buzzer. Try making one out of one of those $1 wally world specials and use it as a prototype. Just a thought.

Well you got me thinking. There's good news and bad news. The good news is: It can be made with an overhead buzzer. The bad news: Wally World buzzers are just too compact to convert. See below:

Sorry for the bad pic and skirt choice color. I did this fairly quick and wanted to post before I went to work. I think if you got like a Strike King type of buzzbait, you can make the conversion.

EDIT: BTW, the one shown does work, but it seems too compact.

That was quick! Looks like it would be worth a try, why do you think it's too compact? You could always add a trailer w/an additional skirt. Bet it would work good in heavy cover.

Geez, B-Dozer, I didn't even think of that while I was posting this. My mind must have went into vapor lock while I was husling to get to work. Your waters must be getting closer to ours for topwater time. PM me your address and I'll ship it down. You can be the official lure tester of this thread.

kms399, I found another wally world special to convert. If you want it, do the same, PM me your address and I'll ship it to you...no cost

I have a friend who is making me a couple. Find someone who makes their own spinnerbaits and they should be able to make something.

Go on Ebay and look for Mr Twister Top-Props. They float and create a ruckus, great for fishing lilypads and thick weeds that haven't yet broken the surface.

The Snagless Sally from Hildebrandt is a traditional florida bait from way back. The Redfish buzzbaits offered by Strike King and Terminator are found easily in bass pro's saltwater catalog. Ive had alot of luck with them rigged weedless with more appropriate bass colors like black or pumpkinseed.
