I've yet to figure out how to edit my posts after it's been published, also spellcheck/correction function does not seem to appear. I won't say the site is horrible but I did prefer the previous version. Reputation buttons, knowing what forum another member is viewing or how many people have looked at my profile are functions that don't interest me, all the power to people that like those features.

Snook, once you have posted something, you should have an edit button at the bottom of the post, thats where you would edit your post.

I hit that button a thousand times, it doesn't work. Let's see if I just figured it out.

Cool, I did it. Didn't realize I had to open post in a new tab or window. Thanks.

This thread helped to realize how that little red minus button works. :eyebrows:

What are the + - buttons?

What are the + - buttons?

It gives people reputation and you can press it if you think the post is good or not

At the risk of getting some justified or unjustified bad press I will say, I don't understand what the + or - buttons intend to accomplish. I'm new here and it took me a while to figure out what I needed to do to get back on. I got it done and I don't usually have any need to have lots of features but I certainly don't understand this feature. Does anyone have the ability to really explain what is actually being accomplished by these buttons ? Maybe there is a search function I could do that will explain it for me.

Reputation

If enabled, you will see reputation options in the corner below each post. You may see an icon representing the reputation other members have given for that post, along with icons to give reputation. To give the post a positive reputation, click the icon or to give the post a negative reputation, click the icon.

I understand this, but what is it's purpose ? What is to be gained ? Is information being collected for some reason ? Is this a solution to a need ? If so what is the need ?

Hey Get. here's a quote form Glenn from another thread:

"Hey guys, don't make this out to be something more than it's meant to be. For quite some time, we recieved feedback to have some sort of way of "voting up" a post, or being able to "rate" a post besides just saying "x2", which some took as a meaningless way to add post counts.

So there you have it. It's now up on the site.

The "reputation" part is meaningless, other than an indicator of how many "x2" responses you get. LOL!

Let's keep it light hearted folks. There's too many negative things in life already.

Thanks!

Glenn"

Glenn, forgive my ignorance for not knowing all the functions on this site yet and used a copy/paste function here.
