What is your favorite hollow body frog and why? Does anyone have any experience with http://www.bass-frog.com/

They look gimmicky to me, wouldn't spend my money on it.

I like SPRO bronzeye frogs. They sit in the water nice and the hooks are sharp. I don't think I'd try the frog you posted. If I'm using a single hook frog, I prefer a yum money frog (not hollow bodied)

I have been tearing them up on the spro popping frog (just had to get a new because they tore up the old one) but it doesn't move slop very well and I was looking for something new. I thought I saw a guy put those legs on a koppers. for 10 buck I may just try it and tell you guys how they work.

no i have not had experience with these frogs, but they do look like a frog swimming when in action. i used to use scum frogs and went to spro cause it was the "hot" thing to do. well i went back to the scum frog when i found out the spro only worked as well as my scum frogs did, which was brilliantly, and for 3-4 bucks cheaper. i will admit i can't cast the scum frog as far as a spro

I should just rephrase this. I won't buy them, they don't look as good as a Spro and I don't see a use for them in my arsenal.

I haven't fished them yet but I have held one in my hand. They are made from a tough but soft material and look like they would hold up to some serious torture. I will have to agree that they do look gimmicky but that's still not going to prevent me from checking them out just to see how they do. Alot of gimmicky looking lures have turned out to be good lures.

I like the Snag Proof Phat Frog the best. They're heavy and easy to cast, and they don't fill with water. I like how they displace more water and make more commotion than any other hollow bodies frog I've tried. You have to bend the hooks out a little or you'll miss strikes. When I'm fishing pads and other cover than can move a little, they seem to want to stay in the water and move around the pad or clump rather than hop over the it like some lighter frogs do. I seem to have fewer missed blowups with Phat Frogs, and I think it's because they spend more time in the strikezone rather than on top of the cover.

The Snag Proof Bleeding Frog has outstanding hookup ratios. You can't miss with those things. The body is super soft and the hooks are large. They're pretty light and they don't make much of a splash. They're a subtle alternative to the Phat Frog. Durability is very poor. They tear easily and the red hooks get chipped up and turn gold within a month. The weight is external and like to fall off if not superglued. They're a pain in the butt to deal with, but they're cheaper than most and they catch fish like crazy.

Spros are good, too. A lot of people swear by them. I've had good days with both sizes.

I use these all of these frogs just about equally, with a slight edge going to the Phat Frog, especially later in the season. They each have different characteristics and have their time and place.

Big fish baits aren't to be taken lightly. I own a couple Clones. They are the real deal.

A few of the biggest fish caught from kayak in VA came on Capt. Ken's frogs last year. We're talking 8 lb.+ fish. Personally,. I hate the stock hooks. Use a Gammy or Owner Kahle style hook.

Trophy Scum Frog for my hollow body preference.

Heavy enough so I can cast it far. Soft enough for a great hookset. Plus I love how it's butt sits down in the water.

If we're talking soft plastic frogs I prefer the Producto Buzz Tail Frog.

Nice! What kind of cover where you fishing?

I only have a few fives on them up here in NY....The big secret is to fish them just outside of cover. Docks, pads - specifically trails ion the pads, inside weed edges, reed edges, etc.

not to highjack the thread....i have to agree with brush hoggin. the spro has done nothing for me but make me wish i had bought two scum frogs. sure.. they cast well.... but thats it. theyre average at every other variable and quite honestly... didnt even last longer than my cheap discount manns frog. (which i kill on till it starts taking on water). for that matter... the bronzeeye 65 that i got didnt make it one trip out... and didnt catch a fish either... just me working it through slop made it start to sink.

its an ok frog if you like it... but im sure not buying anymore than the two i was suckered into.

i neleive the next frog i try will be ishs fat frog.... i like the idea of a seperate bladder so it cant sink.
