Chatterbait Question?????

Featured Replies

I am somewhat new to this swimjig thing. My question is, can a chatterbait swivel or whatever that metal piece that connects the blade to the string handle braid?

Sure, why wouldn't it?

If braid can striaghted out a hook, why not that small gauge wire.

Yes.

May I suggest tieing a snap onto your braid, mono or fluoro and then attaching the snap onto the line tie.

Also, may I suggest sharpening the Chatterbait's hooks as the ones on the jig may need some help in getting sharper.

Add a trailer hook, too.

And a trailer to give it some bulk. :)

I fish them around grass alot so braid is usually my line of choice. The only problem I've had is the snap coming open when a fish hits. Never lost a bait yet but a little heavier snap would probably help. I always fish them with a trailer but never a trailer hook, I don't get near as many bites and it hangs up in the weeds a lot worst.

Thanks guy's, I am looking foward to trying out these new tactics I just learned!!

Ive made some of my own using old altoid can lids. The ones ive made seem to give off even more action and have not broken at all. good baits!
