Also when browsing around I noticed that they have 7' Avid MH rods for $129, while almost all the other Avids are quite a bit more.  Any thoughts on why that particular one is so cheap?

They have plenty in stock.  If an item isn't in stock, an estimated time of arrival is listed.  

Plenty of what i don't need maybe! They gave me there est arrival date three times on a MinnKota TM i ordered almost a month ago! They never got it so i just canceled and drove to Dick's! Same thing with various rods i have tried to get!
