I don't do it a lot but everytime I do it makes me wonder why I don't do it more. By far my most successful fly has been a bonefish fly called the Bonefish Slider. It's a small, weighted fly with a stout hook that will hold a big fish. I've caught lots of bluegill, sunfish, crappie, and catfish on it also. A wooly bugger or most popping bugs will catch plenty of bass also.

well i went out to cabela's and basspro to get some stuff. i had $40 set aside for each store.. and man my wife is gonna kill me now. i baught a few of the bonefish sliders your talking about as well and in a few weeks i will be giving them a shot. i ended up spending around $400 total between the stores... i hate those great sales.. baught a new ultra light rod and reel and a bunch of flies and some poppers. worse part is i need a new tackle box to hold everything.

I take 8 rods on my boat, 3 bait cast, 2 fly cast, and 3 spinning and always do some fly casting on every trip. Some great bass flies can be found on the BPS web site. Look under "fly fishing" then click on "flies". A couple salt water flies that I use with great success are the Enrico Puglisi Peanut Butter in chartreuse and the Enrico Puglisi Pinfish. I also recommend the Dave Whitlock Diving Frog.

That's one of my favorites. The action is incredible. :headbang:

Hulfmann Frogs can also be pretty good producers sometimes.

My dad uses a fly-rod to catch bass at some farm ponds around our house. Wooly Buggers seem to tear them up!
