what are the best conditions to use a lip less crank? thanks guys

Clear, cloudy, deep or shallow, spring, summer, fall, winter, clear water, murky water...

Lipless cranks are very versatile baits. They will produce in a variety of conditions as they can be fished shallow or deep, fast or slow, steady retrieve of pause 'n' jerk, even vertically jigged. They're one of my most productive baits.

Lipped divers that have a wide wobble are fine in summer but are not well suited to coldwater,

Wind blown flats for sure. You can cover water exceptionally fast and they cast well in the wind to boot.

i love em in spring..rippin them over grass covered points in the prespawn can be some of most exciting fishing you'll ever do... just hold on to the rod tight because your liable to hook into a monster on the trap this time of the year

Windy, cloudy days work best for me. Clipping the top of the grass.

I'll throw one in almost any condition. There are very few situations where I won't find myself at least trying one out for a little while. A rattlebait is one of the most versatile lures that you'll have in your tacklebox.

Everytime. I always have one tied on. I have caught bass, catfish, walleye, and striper just this year on one. I like to pull them across steep ledges and just keeping them moving slow. I also tick the outside weed edges, or bang them against wood. My go to bait for sure.

Windy days in the fall, you can wear the paint off a bait if you find them chasing shad stocking up for winter. There isn't really a wrong time to fish them other than maybe when the water's hard

I use lipless cranks virtually all year. They are one of the best cold water baits there is. They are awesome as a search bait cause you can cast them a mile. Great to use on grass flats...even if the fish are in a neutral state you can usually pick up a few ripping traps thru the grass. I especially love using them this time of year (early summer) in So Fla when the water levels are real low, the bass stage up in open water before going to their summer locations.
