Do not buy this split ring plier guys.

If I had a scanner, I'd post a picture but I don't.  I got it at Gander Mtn. for 3.99.  It is a solid silver color and etched on the handle is WORTH, Stevens Point, Wisconsin, USA.  No offense to you guys from Wisc.   ;D

When I got it, I changed out about 10 rings with no problems and after that, it just got harder and harder to do.  Strange, I know, because you normally get better with repetition.  It became as hard using the plier as it was using my fingers.

I examined the tool and the teeth that is suppose to grip onto the ring, was rounded off on both sides already.  I then looked down on my table and saw specs of "silverish" dust everywhere.

I don't know if any of you guys have this tool too and experienced the same thing.  Save your 4 bucks and go to Wendy's.

I've got a similar pair, pretty much worthless so I end up using a real small pocket screwdriver to get started then work in on somehow.  Not the best method but I lost faith in split ring pliers.  Maybe if I got a pair of good ones..... :D

Both of the ones from(regular and super heavy duty, yeah right) Bass Pro don't even come with ridges . I was looking for a pair myself...

I got a pair of the Rapala SRP's for $15.00 bucks.  They are worth it IMO.  Very tough and durable.  I have used them for alot more than split rings and removing fish hooks, and they are holding up great.

I'm also a Rapala fan. The best split ring pliers I've ever bought are the long nose Rapala. Buy a pair, you won't be disappointed.

I use the P-Line Split ring pliers for split rings, cutting line, removing hooks, etc... and they're still working great after a hard season's use. Honestly, it doesn't matter what you get as long as you spend a little more and invest in a QUALITY pair.

ya get what ya pay for. if you spent 4 bucks, what did you expect?

thanks alot guys,  I just dropped 20 bucks on a real good pair of split ring pliers.  then the monkey got me for a total of 100 bucks for other stuff.   :D

Atleast it will save my finger nails, hook to fingers, and aggravation.
