Bad for plastics? (Rage Tail)

Featured Replies

Just got a shipment in from BPS and I'm organizing everything into my new plastics binders.

I came across my rage tail toads, craws and space monkeys and notice they are laid out in a hard plastic casing (unlike my G Yama senko's have been in the past)

This made me wonder, is there a reason for this extra packaging?  Am I going to damage them at all by tossing them in a zip lock?

The do it to preserve the shapes, though the older packs don't have them...  I've had my rage tails out for months, and they're still skittering across the water fine... *shrug*

Rage Tail Rigging Tips and Information

To insure top quality, many Rage Tail baits are made with Shape Save Tabs (SST) and most are cradled in a special clam holder inside the package to minimize deformation before they get to you, thus providing optimum action and performance. These features combine to achieve Right Action Guaranteed Everytime!

It minimizes the chance of deformity of the baits.I just leave them in the Original packages.

Since they only have 5 in a bag I took the 2 bags that I got and combined them into 1 bag without the dividers and they've held their shape with no deformities after a month or so of being tossed around the boat and thrown in my tackle boxes..

The clamshell is there to ensure that you are able to purchase a quality bait.

Yep. Get a pack of shads or toads that are smashed up and mishandled and you'll understand the point. They are completely worthless. That said I don't think it would hurt to take them out and package them together in a bag or your trays after they are bought.Just be careful with the little arms on the lizards and monkeys.

i have a few bags of rage shads that were packed w/o the extra packaging and they SUCK!!! The action is greatly compromised in my opinion. The difference is night and day!

I added the clear plastic clam shells to the packaging process on most all of the designs to insure that the baits are the perfect shape every time. Although the hard clams are expensive and add tremendous costs to manufacturing for individual placement of baits etc., I think they add tremendous value to guarantee you the fisherman, exact shape, proper action and high energy performance with every single cast.

There are now tear-tabs on legs, tails or extremities on many of the new designs to help maintain the shape integrity of the baits throughout manufacturing, so that they are as close to perfect as possible when you put them on a hook.

I feel these additional processes are vital as Rage Tail is stepping it up in the soft plastics industry. "Whatever it takes to Guarantee the client will receive our very best effort."

Our Pros say thankyou for the extra care and consideration to help them have the best bait they can get with every single one....and I hope you do as well  ;)

With this said, my advice is to leave the baits in the hard plastic clams. Please ck them out and keep in touch.

I always leave mine in their original package. I figured if it came that way it is for a reason.

Hmm...Imagine that...

A company making the extra effort

to deliver a perfect product, every

time. Whoda thunk it?

Thanks Big O!

;D ;D ;D

If you would remove the clamshell (and you can), don't just toss the baits in the bag. Arrange them so that they retain their shape, or else they'll soon become worthless.

I am surprised no one has come to the rescue of our environment. Has anyone at Strike King considered the environmental impact of the extra plastic clam shell? Wait until the federal or local governments gets wind of this, we as fisherman will be taxed for such irresponsible purchasing practices. ;)

All joking aside, I picked up a couple of packs of Rage Shads in their new packaging and was impressed. I use to repack all my plastics in different binder zip locks, but now I just throw them in a soft sided tackle box in their original packaging.

Big O, thanks for the extra effort to make sure that we get a perfect bait each and every time we remove one from the clam shells.  You da man!

X2 on the extra effort. Like most I assume, I buy in bulk and this is awesome because I never have to worry about any ragetail losing shape.

TWO THUMBS UP BIG-O!
