Customizing Frogs...

Featured Replies

I hear a lot of people put rattles in their hollow body frogs; I was basically just wondering how they or you go about doing this?? Thanks for the help guys! :)

Though I've never done this, you could take a couple of tube rattles and place them inside the frog where the hook comes out at. There should be a small opening. Just be careful not to add too much weight because it could offset the balance of the frog. I had the idea once to take a Snag Proof frog and put a few copper BBs in it, and not only did the action suffer, but so did the bouyancy  . Sank like a rock hahaha!

i have a nasty frog i throw in the thickest weeds and lily pads i super glued a rattler tube on the hook inside the frog and i have seen better reaction out of bass than i did before so give it a shot

All I can find. He doesn't show you but tells you in the video what he uses and where to insert them at.

There is a hole in hollow bodied frogs where the legs come out.

Open the hole and insert the rattles. :)

I put a bright pink dot sticker on the back of mine. The kind you use to price things at a garage sale. If i can't see the dot, then I set the hook.

Adding a little bit of weight can be helpful, but as stated before, don't over do it. You can add a couple of small split shot in the hollow body, which adds weight, making sit lower in the water and making a bigger wake and pushing more grass/mats. Trimming the legs also can be beneficial. I personally like the legs on my Spros just barely longer than the body..... Great walking action, and you can still chug it.
