Cold Front Fish

Featured Replies

Well, this ENTIRE labor day weekend was full of storms, and before they started Friday, the temps outside were around high 90s to 100s at times. Now this week, the temps will be in the 80s. How might this effect the bass? Also, the ponds and lake are about 2-3 feet higher. Any advice will be appreciated.

I had something like this going on a week ago. When the temp are 90-100s, the bass were holding tight to cover. Then temperatures dropped to 78-85, the bass were more actively chasing minnows and shad. They were pretty shallow, i could see wakes by bass chasing baitfish. I had success with topwaters prop baits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits.

Do not confuse a “cold front” with a “tropical storm” ;)
