Ques About Vegatation?

Featured Replies

So I am stationed in Florida and I fish a pond here pretty freqently and there is some kind of grass that is very thick and I know it's not hydrilla...it's thicker and everytime I go to use a texas-rig its impossible not to pull this vegitation out without the weight and or the lure being covered in the vegitation, was wondering if anyone had any advice?

If it's too thick to fish through it you'll have to just fish over or around it. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chatterbaits, wakebaits, flukes, frogs, etc over the top. T-rigs, rattletraps, squarebills, etc along the sides.

Personally I do my best to avoid those areas, I do not like pulling in a 2# fish with 5# of weeds hanging on. When I must I use a fluke rigged weedless with no weight and fish over the weeds or along the sides.
