I bought a floating swimming pool thermometer.

Works great! ;)

Yep, a pool thermometer is easy to read, and durable. Plus it keys in on temps normally found when fishing. An aquarium thermometer usually focuses on 70-90° range.

Another one for the pool thermometer. ;)

I use a stream thermometer--it's about the size of a ball-point pen.

X2. Got mine at BPS. I also have a very small infrared model that I got on Amazon. It had high reviews but I still don't have as much confidence in it as I do the old-fashioned alchohol thermometer.

I have an infrared temp sensor also that I got from Radio Shack. It does not work well with taking water temps. It works very well with solid media.

I guess this isn't the time of year to find pool thermometer in my area, but I did find an aquarium thermometer that does read to 30 degrees F. I think I will attatch something to make it float, tie it to the boat and see how it works.

I have a laser temp gun that works awesome. The laser shoots out far and it give instant temp reading. They are expensive, but I used to race cars and still had one of these collecting dust.
