Project Phase One

Jig combo

Custom Revo Premier

Fully polished internals, all bearings upgraded to ABEC 7's, drag, etc.

Blue/Purple shifting paint on the frame, gloss black sideplates.

Took a couple of parts out of the cast control cap so now there is zero spool tension. This thing is buttery smooth and pitches a MILE.

Sunline FX2 60#

Dobyns Champion Extreme DX745-FH.

The absolute perfect jig rod! Sensitivity is out of this world and balances perfectly. Perfect action for the way I fish jigs.

Nice looking setup kinda looks like the energy reel from a couple years ago

Poor Hayden is going over to the dark side at such an early age - destined to be a victim forevermore of the rare species of "bait monkey exoticus."

Very cool rig though...enjoy! B)

I really wanna get my hands on an Alphas Type R soon. Also, a Steez 100HA, Zillion PE, and an SPR. Hopefully soon!

That's nice, man, I bet it's like silk.

Very pretty Major, very pretty......but can they fight?

They were scheduled for a bout in the ring today until I slammed my Accord into the back of a Jeep.

Let's not get crazy now. Even at my age I'll give the edge to Carrie.

Good looking outfit G. B)

745 is a very, very nice rod. Not a terrible reel, either, for that matter. I'd throw a Metanium MG on it if it were mine, though. :P

Hopefully you can find a nice looking satchel that matches to carry your lures.

But really, nice rig. Get it now, when you get a boat, there's no money left for nice gear.

Looks like a fun project. I'm not sure I'd have removed the spool tension parts when you can just back the cap off. Keep those parts. I just ordered a replacement cap and spacers for a customer and it cost $15 with shipping.

You lucky dawgg! That things looks like a beast nice set-up!

I knew you would say something about the reel, LOL. :D

I'm pretty impressed with it myself, as well. From what I understand it's basically an upgraded Lew's TP, and very similar to the Patriarch XT. I'm not sold on the handle, which will be replaced with a 4BB one complete with corks very soon.

I was more concerned with the rod and getting the "perfect" jig rod for me, and I did!

Pretty nice setup.

If you don't mind, I'm curious did you do the work to the reel yourself or have someone else do it?

Nitroman77 did it, AKA Trey Harpel. He did a wonderful job. Calfish did the painting.

i love my Zillion PEs i have two one in the display and one in use, i love the faster level wind so i have changed a few Zillions with it, if you own a zillion and fish braid on it order those parts and swap it out it makes a big difference. imho the hottest zillion made was the HLC i have 4 of them only use two once you behold that reel and a Deps zillion you are truly in the dark side.
