What Do You Use To Clean Your Sonars?

Featured Replies

I've got 2 Humminbirds and would like to find a product that both cleans the screens & removes waterspots. Any suggestions?

KVD Line and Lure. Works like a charm.

I do what they recommend for flat panel televisions. A soft damp cloth, followed by a soft dry cloth. Works like a charm.

I keep a few clean towels on my boat, mostly hand towels. Dampen a spot on the towel with bottled water, wipe the screen to remove the water spots then wipe it with a dry section of the same towel. Then, stick the towel in my belt to use for wiping my hands while fishing. Take towel home and throw it in the washing machine.

Damp towels are great for removing blood and slime before it hardens.

I prefer the product from WaveAway - sold in 80 mL bottles (400-500 applications) with cleaning cloth. It's alcohol and ammonia free, and will remove even the harshest hard-water stains.

Full disclosure - I am affliated with WaveAway as a Pro Staffer, but agreed to only after testing and comparing this product with others while working Lowrance field support. I found that WaveAway was superior to other commercially available screen cleaners.

Windex vinegar. Water spots gone.

I won a bottle of Krystal Vision from The Bass Professor and that stuff is awesome.

Works for scuba divers on their diving masks. Keeps 'em from fogging up.

I use the small wipes that are for TV and computer monitors from Wally World along with a micro fiber cloth. They get all the water spots off easier than anything else I have ever used.

Exactly what I though when I read the question.

I also use TV wipes. I have used KVD L & L conditioner before, and that works just as well. I just dont want to waste that glorious stuff. Save that for my line.
