JJ's storage

Featured Replies

Thinking of buying JJ's magic. I know all the good and the bad of JJ's, and I still want some. But one thing is stopping me. Where to store it at home. I keep most of my fishing gear in my garage, and it gets hot in there. I have also read to not keep it in your house. The warden (wife) will not let me keep fish attractant in the fridge. So, where do you guys store it so it won't stink everything up? Can I keep it at room temp in my house after it has been opened?

My garage gets Hot once in awhile..so, I take my small igloo and toss in a couple of blue ice paks..put my JJ's in there, making sure the caps are Tight! lol..so far, all is good..

Keep it in a small cooler in your garage is a great idea. You don't need to keep it cool with ice or anything. What causes problems with JJ's is quick, drastic temperature changes. Keeping it in a cooler will prevent a fast change in temperature. Keeping the lid closed will keep it from smelling up your garage.

I have about 30 bottles of JJ's in a drawer in my garage and I have never had a problem with it. But I might keep it in a cooler to keep my wife happy. lol

Now I keep the JJ's in it.

I use one of those cheap, sealable canisters you can get at Target.  I line it with bubble wrap.  The one on the far right fits 5 bottles.

I've never had a problem with storage.  I keep it under the seat in my canoe in the bottom of a half gallon Tropicana OJ container.  I cut it at the same height as the bottles, and put in cardboard dividers to keep them from clanging together.

They are there 24/7, whether I'm on the water, or the canoe is in the garage.  But, it is never exposed to direct sunlight.

The contents have been exposed from temps in the forties to in the nineties with no adverse incidents.

I have 4 of JJ's in Plano Utility box with no problem. I learned my lesson not to leave it on the deck exposed to the sun, it boils when you dip your plastic.
