What Is The Meaning Behind Your Screen Name?

Featured Replies

Well, Royal is my last name. 14 was my Fire Dept # back in the day. Years ago when I went to register on fleabay, royal14 was taken. So, I threw in the dubble-ought.

Too lazy to come up with something smart or original........

When I was in high school my dad bought an old busted up 14ft row boat for me to use on Cayuga Lake. He banged out the dents, patched a hole, painted it red and put on a 7.5hp Merc. I named it "the red torpedo" The forums made a change way back the said your login name couldn't be the same as your screen name so I shortened it to red. I don't really like it, maybe I will change it.

Nickname my best friend gave me back in the early 70's. He also like to call me birdturd, but I convinved him birdy was more accetable. Real last name is one of our fine feathered friends.

Scorch was the name of a video game character (Starwars republic commando) And when I tried to sign up for Xbox live that was taken, so I added the "er", taken as well. So I added my birthday 2/14 and bam. Use it for just about everything.

CTD = Were I work and the type of engines I work on everyday (Cummins Turbo Diesels)

66 & 77 = When I ran midgets and sprintcars those were my numbers that I ran.

Lots of neat stories on how people came up with their names.

They all have their goods and bads but i'm pretty partial to them myself. Right now I sit and stair at a K19 "rail" engine sitting in a test cell and torture the hell out of it everyday.

That's why I would never own a new diesel.

All their stupid laws now are robbing the power from the motors.

If they're gonna put laws on anything, make it gas engines, they're worse than diesels in the emissions aspect.

You diesel fans are welcome to contribute to the OP as well...the meaning behind your screen name.

Hey guys, Haven't posted on here in quite some time. But My screen name was a nick name given to me by my grandfather several years before he passed. I have had several names on here before then but after his passing I changed my name to Fish Man as a way of remembering all the times we sat and talked about fishing with my uncle.

Mine's pretty simple.

McKinney - My last name.

24v - I drive a 2000 dodge cummins which is a 24 valve.

Being a bit vertically challenged... you can figure it out. :D Seriously, my dad called me Dink for as long as I can remember. Being a tournament guy also, he would joke about the fact that I was the only "dink" he ever kept. Lucky for me!

It is what they called my boat back in my tournament days.

I use to be a car nut. Started with an M3, went to AMG cars, Porsche Turbo, and ended with a Murcielago. Gave my friend a ride in the Porsche, as I was accelerating away from a stop he yelled, "redlinerobert!" We laughed our ***** off and the name stuck.
