I might be heading up there in the morning as well but it looks like a storm rolling in at this time. Not sure what the morning will bring.

Woo! Finally getting back out on the Potomac, my whole Alaska trip threw off my bass fishing.

Hey, now that your back, you still need to post a picture of your 8 and half pounder from the potomac. For those of us not catching any 8's recently, pictures seem to suffice. Hope you caught some monster Halibut.

Ahaha, I'll see if I can post it thru my phone. It's was more along the lines of 7 ;) haha who doesnt stretch a pound or a couple oz every once in a while! Haha halibut,

Flounder, yellow eyed rockfish, cod and pollack were among the many fish I came across :D

Uh oh........ Shimmy does not like it when you exaggerate! Either it was or it wasn't! Remember, there are those of us that will call you out in a hurry for just an educated guess!! jk!

tis true what Jon says. But, nevertheless, i have that much more respect for this young man that he manned up and set the story straight. A 7 is still a monster out there. Congrats to him. He can stretch it and tell the truth while fishing. The best of both worlds i guess.

Fished the Rappahannock River on Saturday, July 14.

Caught 8 with 4 keepers.

Lost a nice 2.5 one at the boat due to my negligence and not checking the line for cuts and nicks due to fishing in the wood on the main river.

Had 10 bites all day. The other one I lost wrapped me around a log and broke off. I had a little part of his lip on my hook.

Overall, nice day due to overcast skies and only got rained on three times.

Seems the insane heat in NOVA might be moving into just serious heat...... maybe the action will improve

last week or so i have caught all my bass on junebug senko and dingers. all have been in the 1-3 pound range. will probably go to my secret honey hole if i get a chance to today since its not to hot out :respect-059:

Put 6 in the boat this morning at SML. Not any big size. 5 were 1.5 to 2 pounds. The biggest was 3.5 pounds. All on a Chartreuse crankbait.

Forgot a pic...

thats great what youre doing. sometimes all a kid needs is to know someone cares and are willing to help them. that dink bass could set the course for him to be confident and positively impact the rest of his life in non-fishing ventures...

finally got to do some fishing for the first time since 4th of july weekend this past saturday. hit up a small pond for about an hour. Around the entire pond from the bank to 3-4 feet out was covered in thick algae top to bottom, but i still could fish the middle and edges of this stuff, and thats what i did. started off with a weightless t-rigged baby rage craw in summer craw, and finished with a rage tail lizard in watermelon w red and black flake. both landed me fish and i only used one of each the whole time. i caught 6 altogether. 3 of them right around 2lbs +/- and the others smaller. not bad for an hour, since i went from noon-1pm. ive seen times at this pond where the bass wont bite anything except in the late evenings. also, the weather was decent, it was partially cloudy and mid80s id guess, so the heat wasnt too bad. definately needed that little bit of time that i spent fishing, it set the tone for a nice relaxing weekend...

Went fishing sunday on claytor lake and caught a limit in about 45 mins. Plan on heading to claytor again in the morning so hopefully i can figure out the fish again.

Been busy lately learning to punch mats. If dinks are all I'm going to catch, I might as well catch them with a new technique.
