Wht size line for jerk baits on a baitcaster?

Mono or Fluor?

I like 10 or 12lb mono or copolymer. Fluoro will make you suspending baits and topwater sink. There are some pros that like to use it for ripbaits though.

Awesome thanks.

Maybe it depends on the equipment you use. For example I like a rod for jerkbaits, and crankbaits that is stiffer than most use. But I also use Berkley Big Game for both. Which stretches quite a bit. Definately more than YZ, or P-line CXX.

I may switch to YZ or CXX though, simply because of the abrasion resistance.

Depends on equipment, bait, and water. It's always some type of copoly or nylon monofilament for me. It's been Seaguar Senshi and PLine C21 for me this year and I'm happy with both.

If you had to compare the C21 to CXX, and Big Game, what would you say about it?

mono for sure dude

maybe 8-12# depending on the structure/cover is probably my range

compared to CXX C21 is a lot more supple, smaller diameter, and easier handling. It's got similar abrasion resistance without being as hard a line.

Compared to Big Game, I'm really not sure how you'd classify it. It's been so long since I fished it it wouldn't be a very fair comparison. What I recall of BG is that it's a good mono. I think the diameter of C21 is better, as is the handling. Other than those two items, I really can't give an opinion, it would be shooting from the hip.

I guess I'm in the minority again. I like 10lb or 20lb suffix 832 braid with a 6-12 foot leader for jerkbaits. I'm fishing open water with rock bottom. You get better depth with the smaller dia braid.

I do the same thing but I never catch anything ^_^

8, 10, 12# CXX. For the little guys, like Pointer 78 or XR-8, I use a spinning rod. Most of my spinners are spooled with 6# Invisx.
