So Who Do You Want To Win The Classic

Featured Replies

Just like the title says.. Not really who you think will win but who you want to win.. I think Arron Martens finally getting the monkey of his back would be a feel good moment, but I would really like the see the G-man pull it out. Not only to give Him a classic to go with his AOY but I would love to hear the post classic interview. I imagine he would have a few zingers to throw out

My order of preference would be Martens, Ike, G-Man, Evers, Grigsby and then KVD.

Martens and Ike are waaay out in front of that list.

I'd have to agree. I usually like to root for the greatest to be just that...the same way I root for Tiger when I watch golf. But in this instance I wouldn't mind seeing some others get a shot. If I can't get Martens or Ike I'd really like to see a "no-name" or a rookie get it. Kinda like when Trevor Bayne won Daytona last year. I was yelling at my TV as he rounded the last couple of turns. Someone like Palaniuk, Defoe or even a qualifier from outside of the Elites.

The challenge I'm going to have is trying to avoid seeing who wins before it hits television. I probably won't be able to unless I stay off the forum for a few weeks.

Palaniuk

Swindle, Martens, Ike, KVD, the federation qualifier, whoever that is, Tim Horten if he is even in it, after that, I don't care.

Tim Horten if he is even in it

He's not.

I'm pulling for Edwin Evers or Jeff Kriet.

I like VanDam but choosing a order of anglers I would go Evers,Swindle,Palaniuk,Brauer,Martens and Kevin. It would be nice to see Martens get over the hump but I really like Evers and Swindle.

Wacth out for a kid named Andrew Upshaw. He was the college national champion and he grew up only 45 minutes from the Red River. I went to college. with the kid for awhile before he transferred to SFA. He can flat out fish, would love to see him win it!

Evers or the G-Man. It would be cool to see Upshaw atleast make the cut to the final day being that its the first year they put the college qualifier in there.

Ike.

The tournament is in Louisiana and Ike fits in nicely with those crazy people in the bayous and swamps.

The February 2012 issue of Bass Times shows Tim Horton as a participant.

The February 2012 issue of Bassmaster Magazine does not show Tim Horton as a participant.

Also, the same is true for Kelly Pratt of Virginia. Bass Times shows Kelly in the Classic and Bassmasters Magazine does not.

Go figure.

Oops!

my mistake.

Bassmaster Magazine DOES show Timmy Horten in the Classic. Page. 80.

Too early this AM (can't sleep) and I am on a narcotic for my cold (and dizzy) so I missed Tim's photo in the magazine.

Anyone want to go driving with me???????

Tim Hortin is in under the Rolling the Red story on page 46 of the Bassmaster 2012 Pro Guide on page 50 of the story but under the "Happy to be there" category I think they spelled his name wrong and put "Jamie Horton". He's listed on the B.A.S.S. site as one of the AOY qualifiers.

Jamie Horton is one of the federation nation qualifiers. Tim Horton is also qualified and I would really like to se him do well maybe even win. I think that would give him a big confidence boost and put his career back on track.

Kriet or G-Man.You cant count out KVD hes a machine.

i want anyone to win except kvd

I stand corrected. Tim Horton did qualify for the Classic. I don't know how I missed his name before.

kvd is great obviously but im tired of him already. id like to see ike, gman, upshaw, evers, brauer, or martens win but anything could happen and an unknown can pull it off, only time will tell.

Ott, E2, KVD would be my top 3, in that order. Then Gman or T. Horton.

I'm with you. I met andrew at Toledo this summer. I always love to go for the underdog and he is the underdog in this tournament. I also would like to see a college angler win it as an inspiration to me and everyone else that fishes in college.

KVD if for no other reason than he aggravates so many people. If not, then Swindle or Martens.

It'd be really cool to see him do well....mostly because I have him on my fantasy team :P Biggest thing for the rookies will probably be practice. He's certaintly been under pressure before, but I would imagine nothing like the Classic. Getting on some fish and building early confidence would go a long way towards him making a run at the final day. Best of luck to him!
