Bye From Picwick

Featured Replies

Been a visitor to web site for a few years but am moving on. This is the least user friendly site I visit and is more about promoting the site than fishing. I guess some web sites are like some magizines more ads than substance. Gotta make a buck though.

15 posts in a few years? Maybe you get out what you put in. See ya.

Im thinking just get out.

I just joined this site and got several welcomes in response. On my first post I misunderstood the question posted, answered what I thought it was about, and was given good advice and included in the conversation anyway. Sure, it's a heavily commercial site, but they're up front about that, and they've been nothing but friendly and helpful with me.

It makes me wonder what you've been reading. I went from a beginner bank fisherman to a professional guide in 3 1/2 years because I used this site for what it was intended for. You get out what you put in.

BUT

It's simple economics. You get to use the site for FREE because our advertisers help to pay the bills.

First thing I tout when I read this was, "Huh? What has this guy been reading?"

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Wow! Why even post that you're leaving? If you had a problem, then I'm sure the mod's or Glenn would be open to hearing it. If no problem other than the advertisements, then I don't see how they affect you. Heck, Stephanie is starting to grow on me, hahaha.

Cortizone cream will clear that up.

That's my question also. To me this is one of the best sites around for Information. There are a ton of great folks here that will answer any question you have and do so willingly. It's free here but I would gladly pay a monthly fee to participate here.

Best of luck to you JJS and hopefully you'll find what you're looking for elsewhere.

Sorry you feel that way. I am sure that you will regret this decision.

You should just take a break.

This guy was insulted by ads on the side of the page? I love those links so when I read about a lure or trechnique I can go straight to a place to look at the gear we speak about.

I would say this is a very non commercial site. No spaming about buying this or that. Even the advertisers on here only post about their stuff when it is on sale..... and I hate saving money and buying more qaulity stuff

Also a lot of Picwick fishermen in the forum, I live in Northern VA and I have learned some stuff about this great fishery..... and would love to swing down and fish it. I can not see why one would be sour grapes about this forum in terms of info.

I think he's computer illiterate he doesn't. Know you have to turn on the computer to access. The site

Well now, you could have turned this into a big positive. I have had the opportunity to fish with several of our members locally in Memphis, Pickwick, Kentucky Lake, Wilson, Wheeler, Guntersville, Bull Shoals and on the White River. I have learned some things from my fishing partners, made several new friends and put a few guys onto their Personal Best, about ten in 2011.

As another member already wrote, "you get what you put into it" most of the time.

I for one can attest to that, for it was a lot of this mans advice that gave me insite and direction and even though we have never met, his and others opinions and valuble advise have led me to top my PB 7 times and it just keeps getting better and better as time goes on.

If you have not learned anything then you must already know it all or you never make mistakes and should have won more awards than KVD.

My vote...you came here as a nobody and you will leave the same way.

This site has been nothing but helpful for me. Especially as a beginning fisherman who loves Pickwick....thanks for all the info and facts guys lets keep them coming
