Just heard that Whitney Houston passed away at age 48.

She was a wonderful performer but she also had some personal problems.

So sorry for her loss.

Whitney was mentioned in a recent post. I said then that when she was at her best she could make angels cry, and when I see her now it makes me want to cry. She was the complete package: smart, talented, charismatic, beautiful, and could have been one of the greats. What a tremendous waste. May she rest in peace.

Yea, like Bobby.

Bobby Brown ruined Whitney with drugs.

Whitney ruined Whitney with drugs, Bobby just presented her with the means.

She was great.......No twang, no soul, no doowop, no missed lyrics, just one of the most memorable Star Spangled Banners.

It doesn't take too much effort to use up all of your fingers and toes counting the number of very talented people who have either died to early or seen their careers destroyed because they couldn't fight off their inner demons. While it is terribly sad to see, I can't help but think that for each of these high profile cases, that there are untold numbers of average people who have lost their own battles.

Soon we'll witness the standard reply that her untimely death will be an inspiration for many of those average people to seek help. Maybe, but in my heart I doubt it. In the end, she simply proved that she had a better voice than the homeless wino or methhead. In other words, she was just a plain human being. I can't bring myself to mourn for her if I can't do it for everybody else.

She still has the BEST rendition of the Star Spangled Banner I have ever heard, period.

I liked her music, too.

An addicts worst enemy is fame and fortune. Especially fortune cause it feeds the habit.

Whitney was easily one of the best female singers ever.
