I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts about the importance of the line tie position on a jig head. Myself, I'm a fan of a horizontal(flat) line tie. I like 60 or 90 degree bends. I feel this helps keep the jig from rolling over, which enables it to come over obstructions with seemingly less difficulty. Also, I believe that it helps keep the hook riding in an upward position, whether dragging the jig across the bottom or swimming it. I realize that some types of jig heads are designed to remain upright, regardless of line tie positioning(arkie, football, etc.), but I still find myself favoring the flat line tie. Will you folks kindly share your experiences and/or preferences on this subject? Many thanks....Craw

When I'm fishing a jig it's in thick matted hydrilla and I don't think which way the eye of the jig is facing matters.

I prefer a horizontal 60 degree or even a little less when I can find them. I feel like a 60 degree doesnt blow the fishes mouth open like a 90 degree does with the line tie being straight up and down and in the way.....and the 60 seems to hug the bottom easier than the 90 when dragging.

60 degree all the way for me.

This style with the 28-30 deg is fast becoming one of my favorites especially in grass it just seems to pull through alot better.

but it is hard to beat this style on the bottom.  

Absoloutley 100% firm believer in horizontal 60 degree heads. That all i use on shakey heads, and all my other jigheads for grubs, paddle tails, craws, etc.
