Ny Or Northeast Get-Togethers ?

Featured Replies

I have had a blast at many fishing roundups or get-togethers.

Are any ever held in the NY area or here in the Northeast for members ?

As much as I'd like to, I just cannot afford to go down south this year; money is TIGHT !!

52 veiws and not even one response ?

John Francho has met me and attended my "North Country Roundup" for members of another website that a we both belong to..

No, I am not an "axe murderer" if anyone is worried about that {Come on John, post that picture---LOL}.

It's all just about getting together, meeting guys that we chat with on teh fishing site, do some fishing together, then share a shoreline BBQ at the events I host.

I buy NY, NJ, and CT fishing licenses every year.

I don't know...you kinda look like an axe murderer to me....we here in S.E. Mass generally have a few gettogethers and you know you're welcome anytime with me. Unfortunately we haven't been able to coagulate this year, yet. We will though. Keep watching.

I'm with you Bill. Just couldn't swing the big trip this year. Nate Follmer pulled a few together for a PA meeting last yr but I had a scheduling conflict and couldn't make that either. I'd be in and pitch in whatever it'd takes to put together.

Haha that's an awesom pic

I'd be for a ny or ne get together once I'm back next year if it was an annual thing.

So just for the sake of argument...what if the Northeast Membership were to meet at...Oh I don't know.....Congamond...or Barton's Cove...or Harriman Reservoir? Maybe around the middle of September...or August...or July? Is this worth the aggravation?

I don't leave WNY from April-December, when I am out fishing, I have to be able to be at work in 2 hours if I get the call. And I never know when I am getting a day off, I might work for 4 weeks with out one and only be able to fish evenings or early mornings, or I might get 2 weeks in a row off due to bad weather or waiting for crops to harvest, it's not good for planning things to go to, so as long as it's around here, if I could, I can and would go.

Hell, if were going to travel at all, it mines well be to a place worth it:

-Candlewood in CT

-the Patomac in DC

-Northeast River in MD

-Hopatcong in NJ

-Maopac in NY

Those would get my vote. I woud love to suggest a Pa lake, but there isnt one worth it. Dont hate, I live in Pa!!!

Living where I do, it's REALLY hard for me to drive anywhere outside a 2 hour radius. That radius includes Erie, Oneida, Ontario (and all it's bays), and most Finger Lakes. Think of it this way, I can fish very weekend from April through December, and not fish any lake twice.

We still gotta hit up Erie

I think the park managers at Harriman would have a cow if I dumped my Ranger in there...

Harriman Reservoir, in Wilmington Vt. has always been very boater friendly in the past. Complete with an Excursion boat, I don't think they will mind fishing boats.

You should go to the roundup in July. I should be there with pork hots and "hot sauce." It's a blast. Otherwise, most common meeting grounds are just too far from good water right here.
